so you think you can dance 2011 The Winner

No surprises here: "So you think you can dance" Melanie Moore seeded Pixie contemporary dancer Marietta, Georgia, won the title tonight America's favorite dancer - with 47 percent of the vote four ways , no less - for the losers Mallory Sasha, another fierce contemporary dancer, jazz dancer Marko Germar (who finished third) and Tadd Guadduang B-Boy (which came fourth).

Melanie, a 19-year-old had been studying art at Fordham University in the Bronx, has been a consistent favorite of the judges from hearing, and cemented his place in front of the pack with their first performance with teammate Marko, a routine Travis contemporary wall near the two statues who yearn to become one. The judges praised its ability to operate continuously, apart from the obvious dance chops.

Other notable performances: A routine dark jazz choreography by Sasha propulsion Sonya Tayeh, contemporary with the great Neil Haskell Star Mandy Moore, and one highlight of the first six shows (see below). Noted for an entirely different reason: a really terrible, awkward disco routine with Marko the show Wednesday night, but luckily for viewers to overlook that one.

With 11.5 million votes, Lythgoe was right: The competition came down to two women.

Melanie Moore was crowned America's favorite dancer with 47 percent of the votes.

"You two are exquisite dancers, who have both been incredible," said the Emmy-nominated host Cat Deeley double finalists - two women for the first time in eight seasons of the show - just moments before announcing the winner.
