NY robber released for heart transplantation is sent back to jail after bust again for stealing

A thief who was released from prison in New York so she could get a heart transplant is back behind bars - possibly forever - after being caught stealing again.

A dying woman's lawyer says Long Island Newsday (http://bit.ly/oNeSAr) the new detention has probably cost him any chance of getting a new heart.

Diane McCloud, of Hempstead, was released by a judge in January after a doctor said he only had six months of life if you do not receive a transplant.

After his release, ran into trouble with the court to continue smoking cigarettes. Then she was arrested in July for stealing cosmetics from a shop in Oceanside.

McCloud pleaded guilty on Friday.

Now she has to finish serving his original sentence plus additional time in the event of theft again - if he lives.
